I had knee joint pain that came on suddenly in both knees in early February 2021. An X-Ray revealed osteoarthritis. It occurs when the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of the bones wears down over time. I had pain while climbing or descending stairs. Even walking was painful. Running was not possible.
Since I was 74 years old, this was a terrifying sign of impending knee replacement. I saw a documentary on knee replacement surgery and
I will do almost anything to avoid it.
An Infomercial on TV claimed that Purity Products JointGel was clinically tested and proven to restore joint cartilage. I ordered it on May 16, 2021 and I used it for 3 months until I found out it was made with Pig gelatin. It did help reduce the pain. I switched to beef gelatin and MSM on November 3rd 2021 and the pain slowly came back. I switched back to pig gelatin April 21 2022. I have been back on pig gelatin and MSM for about 3 weeks and have noticed incredible improvement. I can't run yet but hope to soon.
Update: It has now been one month with the pig protocol and I am able to run again (albeit slowly)!
I ran across a treehugger.com article that stated "Pig DNA is much closer to human DNA than previously thought." I concluded an increased risk of autoimmune diseases and decided to play it safe and not eat pork. For example, there is a proven increased risk of multiple sclerosis with pork consumption. See below.
However, for joint repair the closeness to human DNA is probably of key importance. Also, hydrolyzed pork gelatin did not work as well for me.

Now, at 76 years old, I have no pain while going up and down stairs, walking, or even running. I have exercised every morning, except when I was sick, for the last 40 years. Since I can exercise again, have been able to regain my strength. I regard this supplementation as a miracle.
